What is the best all around area to go skiing in Colorado?

I’m looking for an affordable place to go skiing and a few days of lodging in Colorado. I would like to find somewhere that also has a great nightlife. I’m trying to plan fo 2-3 nights on Christmas Eve through the day after Christmas. Any suggestions?

Breckenridge is a great option and usually has some great deals going on. I love the skiing at Vail more than anywhere else, but it isn’t exactly the most affordable. Plus the town of Breckenridge is wonderful for the nightlife and just has a great feel, restaurants, bars, etc.

Also keep in mind travel costs. With Summit county you can fly into DIA and take a shuttle to Breckenridge and never have to rent a car. I prefer to stay within walking distance of the lifts but you can save money by being a little farther away and staying on the bus route.
