How much would it cost for snowboarding gear?
ggs asked:
i am going snowboarding in the winter in utah. my parents are paying for the airfare and the hotel. how much would it be for clothing? like for pants jacket etc. i will be there for a week so would it be cheaper to rent a board there or buy that gear as well? also what about lift tickets and such?

If your buying a good snowboard looking in range of 250-1000 dollars just for the board than snowboard bindings cost you about 200 to 300 dollars. and boots cost you 200 to 500 dollars. snowboarding clothing like the pants is about 100 to 300 dollars and jackets can go for 150 to 1000 dollars. Basically more you spend on your gear the better its going to be. Some places have great deals that include the snowboard and the bindings for a good price.
If this is your first time snowboarding your better off renting all the gear you need for the week. Lift tickets can be 40 to well over 100 dollars per day specially out west. I only snowboarded east coast and the most money I spent on a lift ticket was about 109 dollars in Vermont.
You don’t want to buy some cheap asss gear and break on you when you are riding down a large mountain. Just rent your gear there if don’t feel like spending that much money.

If you’re only going for a week, rent a snowboard. Get mittens ($5-$15) Snow pants (I got mine for $30) I’m a snowboarder that wipes out a lot so I got a nice $80 coat at burlington coat factory. I still have my gunstock tag on the zipper (from March 10th!) a helmet will be anywhere from $20-40. So for rentals, mittens, snow pants a coat, and a helmet, about $150-$250.

Helmet- 20-80
Jacket- 80-130
Pants- 50-100
it depends if you want top of the line stuff, or not.
I’d Rent a snowboard and boots. Not sure about how much that would be.

Ha don’t listen to chucky up there if your only gunna be snowboarding for a week and not all the time you dont need the best product out there just buy yourself gloves- 15-30 bucks Pants- 40-100 Jacket- 80-120 and yea it would be deff cheaper to rent. As for lift your looking at 100 bucks a day but you may be able to find a week pass for alot cheaper its not going to be cheap but deff worth the money if i were you id go to a local mtn and practice before you went to a place like snowbird.
